  1. GENERAL POLICY REGARDING CUSTOMER INFORMATION. This Privacy Policy describes our practices for all users of the Product ("Users"). However, there are certain services that are only provided to Users who have established an account with StartMeetingsm (your "Account").

    YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION MAY BE PROCESSED BY US IN THE COUNTRY WHERE IT WAS COLLECTED AS WELL AS OTHER COUNTRIES (INCLUDING THE UNITED STATES) WHERE LAWS REGARDING PROCESSING OF PERSONAL INFORMATION MAY BE LESS STRINGENT THAN THE LAWS IN YOUR COUNTRY. BY USING THIS SITE AND PROVIDING ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION, YOU ARE CONSENTING TO THE TRANSFER OF DATA FROM YOUR COUNTRY TO A COUNTRY THAT HAS LESS STRINGENT LAWS, AND THE PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION IN CONFORMANCE WITH THIS POLICY.

    The phrase "Personal Information" in this Privacy Policy means contact information (e.g., name, address, email address, mailing address or telephone number) and any other non- public information that is used or intended to be used to personally identify an individual. The phrase "Anonymous Information" in this Privacy Policy means information that is neither used nor intended to be used to personally identify an individual.

    This Privacy Policy addresses our use and disclosure of information we collect from and/or about you. If you disclose information to others, different rules may apply to their use or disclosure of the information you disclose to them. The use and disclosure restrictions contained in this Privacy Policy will not apply to any third party. We do not control the privacy policies of third parties, and you are subject to the privacy policies of those third parties where applicable. The Personal Information we disclose to our third party vendor is used only to verify your identity, is transmitted in an encrypted form and is not stored by such vendor.

    STARTMEETINGsm DOES NOT SELL, RENT OR DISTRIBUTE CUSTOMERS’ PERSONAL INFORMATION INCLUDING NAME, EMAIL ADDRESS, PHONE NUMBER, ADDRESS OR COMPANY. We periodically issue technical and marketing information and are committed to an "opt in/opt out" permission based philosophy. If you voluntarily submit your e-mail address to receive information, we may subsequently issue information via e-mail. However, we respect the right to opt out and will remove e-mails from our list on request.

  2. CUSTOMER INFORMATION COLLECTION. (a) Personal Information. In general, the Personal Information we gather enables us to provide StartMeetingsm to you and helps us learn more about the use of StartMeetingsm. We collect Personal Information that you or someone else submits to us voluntarily when you register or correspond with us. Some customer information is obtained through telemarketing and marketing lists. Potential customer information is not registered into the StartMeetingsm database unless express permission is given. Additional Personal Information provided by you to our customer service group is not currently appended to the customer account information. We reserve the right to change this policy without notice. Personal Information including phone number, address, email, title and company may be collected during a survey or contest. Since prizes may be awarded during these events, it is critical that StartMeetingsm collect full customer details. This information is stored in a separate database and may be used for further marketing activities. (b) Registration. To register for an account with StartMeetingsm, we require that you provide certain Personal Information, including your name, email address, mailing address, phone number and credit card information. We may also ask you to provide certain other Personal Information, which you may opt out of providing, One type of Personal Information we collect when you purchase StartMeetingsm is "Payment Information", which means the information necessary to process a payment from you, including the following: (i) your name as it appears on the card; (ii) the credit card type (VISA, MasterCard, American Express or any other issuer then accepted by StartMeetingsm); (iii) a valid credit card number; (iv) the date of expiration of your credit card; (v) your billing address; and (vi) any activation numbers or codes needed to charge your card. We will store this information. We may disclose your Payment Information to third party vendors who help us process your payments. When you communicate with us by responding to our polls or surveys, or by sending us an email, we may collect and store any information that is contained in your communications with us. (c) Use. We will use your Personal Information to:

    • Administer your Account and verify your identity;
    • Process your payments and fulfill your orders;
    • Provide you with Services and customer support;
    • Tailor the features, performance and support of StartMeetingsm to you;
    • Market our products and services to you;
    • Respond to your requests, resolve disputes and/or troubleshoot problems;
    • Improve the quality of StartMeetingsm; and
    • Communicate with you about StartMeetingsm.

    We may also use your Personal Information to create Anonymous Information records by excluding information that makes the information personally identifiable to you. (d) Anonymous Information. As you use StartMeetingsm, certain Anonymous Information may be passively collected and stored, such as your Internet protocol address, browser type, domain names and access times. We may also use Cookies (as defined below) and navigational data like Uniform Resource Locators (URLs) to gather information regarding the date and time of your visit. "Cookies" are small pieces of information that a website sends to your browser while you are viewing a website. We may use both session Cookies (which expire once you close your web browser) and persistent Cookies. You can instruct your browser, by changing its options, to stop accepting Cookies or to prompt you before accepting a Cookie from the websites you visit. We may use your Anonymous Information to analyze usage patterns so that we may enhance StartMeetingsm and improve our internal operations and the content of our software. With your consent, we may combine such data with certain of your Personal Information. We may also de-identify or anonymize your Personal Information (thereby creating Anonymous Information). (e) Opt-Out Policy. We offer Users of StartMeetingsm a means to opt-out of receiving certain communications from us. If, at any time after registering, you change your mind about being contacted by us, or receiving certain information, you can opt-out of receiving such information, by sending your request to support@StartMeeting.com. In addition, Users can choose to opt out of newsletters and promotional emails, via the opt-out link included in each email. However, even if you opt- out of receiving such communications, during the term of our agreement with you, we retain the right to send you service-related communications in our sole discretion.

  3. CUSTOMER COMMUNICATIONS. (a). Email Contact. StartMeetingsm uses email to make contact with its customers. Customers receive an initial registration email with all account details listed. After each call, customers receive call detail reports via email. Finally, StartMeetingsm uses email to communicate promotions, product updates and technical advisories with their customers. (b). Opting Out of Contact. Opting out of contact with StartMeetingsm can be done by unsubscribing from email lists. There are 3 main lists that a customer will need to unsubscribe from; call detail reports, email marketing and technical advisories. Unsubscribing from technical advisories will result in the cancellation of the customers account.

  4. HOW WE DISCLOSE INFORMATION. (a) We may disclose certain Personal Information: (i) to third party vendors who help us provide the Services or the Site, including vendors that help us verify your identity, and vendors that process purchases for us, if you opt-in to such disclosure; (ii) to third parties to whom you ask or authorize us to send Personal Information (including other Users) by opting in, including verifying your identity to such third party; (iii) to any subsidiary organizations, joint ventures, or other organizations under our control (collectively, "Affiliates"), if you opt-in to such disclosure in which case we will require our Affiliates to honor this Privacy Policy; (iv) to a company that merges with us, acquires us, or purchases our assets, in which case such company may continue to process your Personal Information as set forth in this Privacy Policy; or (v) if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to: (1) resolve disputes, investigate problems, or enforce our Terms and Conditions of Use; (2) comply with relevant laws or to respond to requests from law enforcement or other government officials relating to investigations or alleged illegal activity, in which case we can (and you authorize us to) disclose Personal Information without subpoenas or warrants served on us; or (3) protect and defend our rights or property or the rights and property of you or third parties. (b) It is our general policy to restrict who can access Personal Information. Except as otherwise stated in this Privacy Policy, we do not trade, rent, or share the Personal Information that we collect with unaffiliated third-parties. (c) We reserve the right to disclose Anonymous Information publicly without restriction, including to third party vendors who may help us enhance the Product.

  5. SECURITY. (a). We have put in place reasonable security measures to help protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of your Personal Information. StartMeetingsm hosts its site and the collected data in a secure environment that uses advanced technology to help prevent interference or access from unauthorized persons. Sensitive information that is transmitted to us online (such as credit card number) is encrypted and is transmitted to us securely. In addition, access to all of our customers' information is restricted. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, a billing agent or a customer service representative) are granted access to personally identifiable information. Finally, the servers on which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment. Despite such efforts, however, please note that no company, including StartMeetingsm, can fully eliminate risks or guarantee the security of your Personal Information; unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors may compromise the security of information about you at any time, and we bear no liability for uses or disclosures of personal data or non-personal data arising in connection with the theft thereof.

We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each web site to which we may link that may collect personally identifiable information.services and websites are not directed at individuals under thirteen years of age, and StartMeetingsm does not intend to collect any personally-identifiable information from such individuals.

  8. CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS. (a). Beginning on January 1, 2005, California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits those customers that are California residents to request that StartMeetingsm not share your personal information with third parties for their direct marketing use.   9. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY. This Privacy Policy is subject to revision from time to time on a going-forward basis. We will post any revised version of the Privacy Policy on this page. If we make any material changes to it, we will also send you notice to the last email address you have provided to us. Continued use of StartMeetingsm following notice of such changes will indicate your acknowledgement of such changes and agreement to be bound by the terms and conditions of such changes.
